A Parking Lot Full of Art (Yes, Really)

Over the years, our little company has sold scores of paintings for $100,000 or more … thousands in the $10,000+ range.

That’s the fun and glamorous side of the business. The less fun side? Everything else.

In the process of handling estates, collections and consignments, we’ve accumulated hundreds of smaller works. Paintings and prints that didn’t quite make it to auction. Some by known artists. Some unsigned. Some by obscure artists.

A lot of it is good. Really good.

Original frames. Mid Century Modern, surreal, traditional. Striking. Funky. The occasional pastoral cow. Stuff that in the right setting, absolutely works.

And it’s piling up. Shelves, racks, corners … all full. At a certain point, it stops being inventory and starts being a space problem. And Katrina despises mess.

So we’ve decided to do something!

On Saturday, April 11, we’re hosting a parking lot sale at Hess Fine Art. Not an auction. Not a formal event. Just lots of cool collectibles.

Original pieces from $20 to $500, some even lower. In many cases, less than what you’d pay for a mass-produced, factory-framed print.

Except this is real art and collectibles. Not made last month in a warehouse overseas but something with a bit of age, character, and occasionally, a story. Also some glassware and tchotchkes.

If you’ve ever wanted to fill a wall, a hallway, even a bathroom with something cool … this is your moment. We need the space. You get the art.

Come by, take a look, and see what catches your eye.

Ten percent of the profits will go to the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance … a terrific local group.

Sometimes the best finds aren’t in galleries.

Sometimes … they’re in a parking lot.
