A Magical Week Of Tiffany
This week was an amazing Tiffany week. We bought 100 pieces of Tiffany silver (the inexpensive baubles they used
to sell), a Tiffany flatware set, 17 pieces of 18k gold jewelry and the two pictured. This odd melange typifies the wide
scope of items Tiffany sells.
First, an item a Virginia pawnshop sent us, a 130-year-old sterling silver Smith & Wesson .38 caliber revolver. These rarely surface and usually sell for $30,000- $100,000 at auction. The pawnbroker bought it “right” and sold it to us for under $25,000. These are often called Columbian Exposition guns, since many were sold at the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago. The detailed work is amazing, as is the flourished grip. We have offers from collectors and will report back our sales price.

The rare Tiffany ring came from an Arizona jeweler. His client became overextended and had to sell over $2 million
of Tiffany items she had amassed. According to Tiffany paperwork, she paid almost $400,000 with tax just 2 years ago. The jeweler paid $100,000 and we paid him just under $120,000 for it. It boasts a 5 carat fancy intense yellow VVS
diamond with two 1 carat EVVS ovals on each side.
