Native American Biographies
This three-volume collection of Native American biographies and stunning, hand-colored lithographs from Thomas McKenney and James Hall is highly collectible. It was part of the personal library of A.G. Talbott, who served in the House of Representatives from 1855 to 1859, and bears his inscription (which is dated 1855).
This Civil War–era antique is valuable because it is completely intact — many of these sets have been separated or have had single pages ripped out for framing. While larger-folio versions of this set are valued at up to $100,000, the descendants of Talbott entrusted us to sell this smaller set, which ultimately fetched $8,700.
