Today we share the results of our recent online auction. While there were a few lots that didn’t meet the reserve, we are proud to have had one of the most successful auctions to date with many items meeting or exceeding pre-auction estimates.
1. The Patek Philippe watch from a Clearwater estate without original bracelet and not running had a modest auction estimate of $10,000. It more than doubled that at $22,000 and our watchmakers were able to get it running, buffed and find a suitable bracelet for it. The buyer was very happy with the results.
2. Equally exciting was the Flato multicolored bracelet. Although there was very little gold because most of the weight was in semiprecious gems, it nonetheless fetched over $7,000.
3. This Leonard Edmonston abstract mid-century modern watercolor painting had a modest estimate of $500 to $1,000, but smashed expectations—bringing in over $3,100.
4. This colorful Brito print/lithograph exceeded auction estimates, bringing in over $1,000.

5. This spectacular Gibson guitar, circa 1970, ES335. With a starting bid of $3,600, it brought close to $5,000.
6. This unusual Ferdinand Leger ceramic plaque had a starting bid of only $2,000 and brought almost $4,500.
7. This unusual Charles Fazzino canvas collage smashed the auction estimate of $300 to $900, bringing almost $3,500.
8. The star of the show was a rare Patek Philippe 565 with a rare Breguet dial in stainless steel. We helped our customer authenticate it and walked him through the process with the Patek Philippe company to get an extract from their archives. It is very rare because of its condition, reference number, Breguet dial and screw back. We were able to get $15,000 more than the lowest estimate of one of New York’s big auction houses, landing at $45,000.
